Executive Director – Ralph Gruebel
Ralph Gruebel joined the State of New Mexico Office of Natural Resources Trustee as Executive Director in November 2018. He is an experienced public and private sector manager with over 30 years managing projects/organizations with up to 200 personnel. He is a proven collaborative problem solver who possesses demonstrated program development capabilities. He previously served New Mexico as Director of the New Mexico Environment Department’s Environmental Protection Division, and most recently as Compliance and Enforcement Section Chief of the Department’s Air Quality Bureau. His environmental experience ranges from environmental site assessments to nuclear waste management and site characterization at US Department of Energy facilities.
Mr. Gruebel holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from the University of Houston and a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Mexico. He is a Registered Environmental Manager with the National Registry of Environmental Professionals, a Certified Professional Geologist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists, and a Licensed Geologist in the states of Alaska and Washington.
